I was curious if anyone knows what method is used by the operating system in 10.5.3 to do the 'secure delete' feature? Is it Gutmann 35 passes?

If not does anyone know of a good free app that will do Gutmann 35 pass deletion?

Thanks!

You can use Disk Utility. It does the Gutmann 35 pass method.

I guess he should specify if he's referring to the Trash or the HDD...
