help computer won't turn back on

I put in the install disk for osx and now the computer won't start back up it gave me a warning that i needed to update firmware but now it won't turn on at all.

i have a black sceen and it won't delete the disk

You may need to change the back up battery. It's usually near the RAM on the board. Careful to discharge static by touching the metal chassis part first!

but it worked fine before i went to install. after I got the error msg telling me to update firmware it shut down and didn't turn back on
