Questions about updating to Tiger...

Would an upgrade from Panther to Tiger ever be free?
I'm not expecting so, but thought I'd ask.
If not, how much is it expected to cost?

it is never free going between major OSs' llike from 10.3 to 10.4. the cost is usually 129.99 USD.

I figured as much...

It's not bad actually, especially considering how much MS charges for their OS's..

xwonderboy85x 11-15-2004 10:27 PM

oh, for sure... it's ridiculous.
and they wonder why people pirate windows!
but on the same line of thought, windows doesn't charge for an upgrade nearly as often as mac, and thier service packs are free of charge.

Macman 11-15-2004 11:22 PM

yea, at least we get inter OS updates free, like going from 10.3.5 to 10.3.6 is always free.

the only thing service packs do is fix all of the flaws

Macman 11-15-2004 11:34 PM

FIX? haha, thats funny, windows is a flaw.

What is the problem, if the current OS is working for you why upgrade. :)

because spotlight and dashboard look like they're awesome.
