Well, this isn't actually my laptop, but I installed OSX 10.5 on my friends macbook last night. Well, when I turned it back on, to my surprise, the HD was missing. How on earth? Disk Utility still recognizes it, and that is the only way I can access that part of the drive. I've done "verify disk, and it says it's fine. Anyone else have an issue like this? PLEASE help!

Are you saying that your disk icon is not on the desktop?

Finder>Preferences and make sure the Hard Disks is ticked.

Then re-boot. I lost my desktop hard drive icon and did the above. It didn't actually reappear until the re-boot.

No, litterly it's not there. I even checked those preferences and EVERYTHING. I unchecked it, then rebooted, then rechecked it, then rebooted. NOTHING. It's so annoying. I don't want have to reformat, but that seems like a possibility. Dang... And the ONLY way I can access the drive is by going to Disk Utility, it's not on the sidebar, or on the Desktop...
