OS 10.5 - startup issues please help!

hey, heres my issue.
when i turn my mac on it brings up a white screen then a black one saying no bootdisk avaible or sumthing on those lines.
I have to hold down hold to pick macos, this is really annoying how do i get it to boot this automaticaly again.
