Hi There everybody, I have finally upgraded from PC to Mac and have bought a Mac G4 from a friend who hadn't used it much. (installed office etc).

The problem I need help with is that I have downloaded the trial versions of Dreamweaver CS3 & Photoshop CS3 from the Adobe website, when I click the setup icon all that happens is that the icon enlarges and fades out, the dock enlarges as if the icon goes there and shrinks down again, then nothing happens.

I thought this was just a problem with those trial downloads, so I bought an OEM version, downloaded it, I unzipped it with Unrarx (which is great by the way) and I get the same thing when I try to setup.

I am a real Mac newbie so there may be some setup action that I am unaware of.

I'd really appreciate some help with this as I have lots of work to do and don't want to do it on my PC.

Thanks in advance.
Steve

Can you give us a few specs on the Mac G4? Also is it for sure OSX 10.3? I am not sure CS3 will run on 10.3. Will check and get back to you.

Edit, I see your problem. It needs 10.4.8 or higher Tiger to run. 10.3 is Panther and too old.

Ok here are the system requirements:

MACINTOSH

PowerPC® G4 or G5 or multicore Intel® processor
Mac OS X v10.4.8–10.5 (Leopard)
512MB of RAM
1.4GB of available hard-disk space (additional free space required during installation)
1,024x768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card
DVD-ROM drive
Internet or phone connection required for product activation
Broadband Internet connection required for Adobe Stock Photos* and other services

Thanks guys!

I'll get leopard now and install it. I suppose I'll have to save all my downloads to disc before I change to Leopard. I'll get underway now.

Thanks heaps.
