I'm running OX 10.3.8 on an 800 Mh Power PC G4 . Attached by scuzzi (with an accelerator card) is a tower with five 40 gig hard discs. I wish to install OS 8.6 on one of the drives in the tower. I have an original OS 8.6 disc, but when I try and install by restarting and holding down the 'C' key, Classic will try and start, then an error message states that 'This Disc cannot be run from this computer'.

Is there some way of bypassing these issues to install OS 8.6 on a blank drive?

I'm pretty sure that you can't install anything before Mac OS 9.2 on an 800MHz G4.

Just FYI, that would be SCSI (Small Computer Systems Interface). But we know what you meant.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

All these guys that already posted have it right.

The oldest versions of OSes to ship with any PowerPC-based 800 MHz G4 Mac was 9.2, X 10.0.4 according to everymac.com.

So if you want to install OS 8.6, you're outta luck according to Apple.
