Harmon Kardon Soundstick and Apple Keyboard...

Ok, here's the question.

I have a nice set of Harmon Kardon soundsticks, that connect via USB. They work nicely with one stupid little hitch. Whenever I log back into my machine the shortcut keys on the keyboard are automatically reassigned to control the internal speakers. Needless to say I'm getting tired of remapping them all the time. If this a way to automate this. I'm looking into Apple Script, but I'm too much of a novice at it, right now, to figure it out right now.
