There are a number of system fonts that cannot be deactivated.
As a designer, this creates a problem for me as its not so often I use Hiragino Kaku Gothic Pro W3 or Marker Felt in a design, but I still have to scroll past these names in the font menus of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. My question is, is there a hack/utility that allows these fonts to remain active to allow normal system operation, but prevents them from appearing in these menus? |

Give Font Card a whirl. I've not used it myself, but it might do the trick. The current version is in beta testing for Leopard compatibility, but you can get a release version for Tiger from Unsanity's website.
If that doesn't work out, perhaps You Control: Fonts will. |
