My Book ext drivenot sure if im in the right section but,
i have an wd mybook 1tb ext drive and im not sure how to use it,
also, will this work with the pc as well as the apple at the same time.

Need a bit more info on this . Which Mybook have you got ?
WD do have some models ready to go with Mac (i.e. No Formatting needed)
If you are running Leopard on your mac make sure you download the latest Firewire driver from WD (Only available some models of My book)
If using Leopard you can just plug it in and tell TM to use the drive.
I have my 1TB partitioned into 3 parts I use 500 gig as my TM The others I use for a Bootable back-up and misc. stuff.
I'm not too sure about PC use as I don't use mine that way . Maybe you can format a partition for that. Maybe someone else can help you with that. Or maybe you can do a search on the forumNow with Leopard
