OS 10.4 - tiger on a g3 ibook with a cd

what are my options of installing tiger on a ibook that doesnt have a dvd. i'm not sure if you can install OS from an external dvd-rom, but someone can correct me. also i dont wanna buy the CD tiger set or open the comp to install the dvd.

Mac Specs: iMac i5 2.7GHz OS X.9.4 and OS X.10

Apple did release Tiger on CD's for eMacs as they had no DVD drive. Keep an eye on eBay and advertise through trading forum.
