My dad recently bought a G4 that was previously owned. The apostrophe key as well as the slash key both register as an accented e. How can this be changed?

Perhaps the keyboard and Systems Preferences has been set up for French/French Canadian. What little flag appears on the menu bar?

Thanks for that link. Changing the International setting to U.S. instead of Canadian fixed the problem.
