    How to change harddrive name?
I was wondering how to change the hard drive name from untitled to Mac HD. Though I am the administrator, I can only read the disk, I cannot make any changes

Select it on your desktop, hit "Return/Enter" and type in the new name. If the HD is read-only (an NTFS drive perhaps) then you cant change it.

    Specs:
    Mac Mini Core i7 2012 | White 2009 MacBook 2 Ghz | 733 Mhz G4 Quicksilver
    Click on the icon

Hit return (that highlights the name)

    Type in new name

The above will not adversely affect your mac

@Weirdfish: May I suggest you grab PNG images of your external drives? It looks really cool to have the actual picture of your external drive on your desktop.

FAT32 partitions only allow uppercase volume names. NTFS should allow for mixed case, but they would be read-only from the Mac side, and I'm not even sure that the Mac OS would display the mixed-case name properly anyway.
