OS X can turn text in to speech

It has speech technology to let you control the OS and certain apps using speech commands

But do you want to dictate text documents to your mac using speech?

commercial software http://www.macspeech.com/

http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...kage_id=117949 - open source - I think java based

OS X can recognise commands that are spoken, but has no built in dictation software
