I just bought a G4 MDD with Tiger already installed but completely wiped clean. I have nothing on it at this point and I need to downgrade to 10.3 for use with some Tiger-unsupported music editing hardware/software.

Is there anything tricky I need to do here? Can I just use the 10.3 install cd and do an erase and install? I've never downgraded an OS before, so I want to make sure that 1) it's possible and 2) I go about it correctly.

Thank you all very much!

Joe

A simple Erase and Install with a 10.3 disc should do the trick.

Is it possible to partition the hard drive and have one partition 10.4 and the other 10.3 and boot up in each when needed? I don't think so but someone might know more then I do.

Yes you can, you can swap between 2 installations using the alt key on start up or changing the start-up disk in system preferences

that's an interesting thought about the partitioning of the HD, but I'd be afraid to mess something up with my audio software as ProTools is pretty finnicky with harddrives. :/

Thank you very much! that's all i needed to know!
