I was thinking about getting this lately, but i was wondering if anyone knows how good the hardware discount is exactly.

The student discount is really good.
Well, in the UK I live, and I ordered a macbook on friday, and instead of 699 it was 601 when I ordered by phone (or from within my institutions network).

I joined the student development thing when I had to join to download XCode2 but I don't know what difference there is between a student developer and a regular developer account (well the basic free one anyway).
