Does anyone know how to safely and reliably install gfortran on Mac OSX Lion? With macports installed, I've tried this:
sudo port install gfortran
sudo port install gfortran-mp-45
sudo port install gfortran45

but none of those packages are recognised.
Please help!

Thanks

MacPorts doesn't offer GFortran packages (as a note, you can do a port search <package_name> to search for packages). You can, however, get binaries of GFortran here.

Thanks, but that link only contains binaries for OS X Snow Leopard, not Lion.

This link has the gfortran-lion.tar.gz package I'm looking for:
High Performance Computing for Mac OS X

Then follow the installation instructions given for gcc but with gfortran.
