So, I've recently started learning to use XCode, and one thing I want to add to my application is a browser that allows the user to click an item in one column and get a list of items to select in the next column (that is, like the Finder's browser).
In order to do this, I figured I should use NSBrowser. After crawling through the documentation and various web boards, including Apple's SimpleBrowser example, I find that I still have no idea how to actually implement the browser. Heres what I have so far: A browser created in interface builder - just the NSBrowser object, nothing else (is anything else needed?) a class in xcode for the delegate an NSMutableDictionary for the entries in the first column I have two main questions: How do I get the data from the NSMutableDictionary (or an NSSet, or an NSArray - any will work) to the column of the browser? How do I connect another list of data to a specific entry in the column (so that it will show when that entry is selected)? Preferably, I'd like to use the item-based API that Apple introduced, although anything is fine at this point. Can anyone help me? |
