I just recently wrote my first original program in Objective-C.
Okay, I admit it doesn't do much, other than print a greeting to the console and then display the contents of a text file, delimited by commas. Basically I'm starting to learn about the more common classes and how to use them. For years now I've just been focusing on programming for Windows, so now that I have a Mac Mini, I decided to install Xcode and explore OS X programming. I think Xcode is a very nice environment, and Objective-C, from what I've seen so far, strikes me as being a very elegant language, although it is a bit different than C# and .NET, which I've also been reading about lately. I bought a Kindle book to aid me in my studies, entitled Beginning Mac OS X Snow Leopard Programming. It seems very well written. I welcome any comments from anyone who has some insight on when they began programming for the Mac. Peace!

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics! |
