Hello,

I am looking for an installer builder for Mac OS X, I am looking for installer with the following features:

1. Copying files to various folders (not just to application folder but to some system folders)
2. Addition of our customized dialogs with various controls to the UI of installation process.
3. Ability to implement some logic with script based languages and launches it during installation.
4. Ability to call some external functions from dynamic/static libraries
5. Execution of some external applications during installation process
UI customization: strings, icons, pictures, shortcuts etc.

I know about two applications already InstallAnywhere and InstallBuilder, I am looking for more solutions or to know which application from the above is better.

Thank you very much,
Assaf.

Here are two other titles that should meet most of your needs, unfortunately I haven't had much experience in this field myself:

BitRockInstallBuilder(don't know if its the same one you mention as InstallBuilder)
Cross Platform BitRock InstallBuilder: Multiplatform Installer Tool

ClickInstall MacOS
ClickInstall for Mac OS X - Build Apple Macintosh Software Installer for CDs or Downloads

What kind of application are you building that would require such an involved installation process? Why do you need to modify system folders?

As a general rule, you should use PacakgeMaker, which is included with the OS X developer tools. It has the features you require and is the best supported on OS X.

Be sure to test your installer on different account types and all versions of OS X that your application will install.
