A terminal window has started to show up when I boot up my Mac.I don't think it is anything significant but I'd like to get rid of it because it takes a few minutes to complete it's task.
I do not understand Java but I'll bet there is a little bit of a Java script that would dispose of this annoyance. I'd appreciate it if someone out there could advise me on what that script is. I am running OS 10.4.11. Thanks Limey |

I might be able to help you but I need to know what the application is. Can you scroll to the top of that window and tell me what it says?
EDIT: It does indeed appear to be Java. Alright, let's start out simple. What have you installed lately? Do you have anything in your login items (System Preferences > Accounts > click your user name > Login Items)? Important Links: Community Guidelines : Use the reputation system if you've been helped. I have checked the Login Items and hidden all of them. The Darwin window still opens..... I have attached the full Darwin window showing the Java command this time. Hopefully that will give you a better idea of what is going on. Thanks again Limey |
