how to get a "make" in 10.5.5

Hi All,
I dont see the make/gnumake commands in leopard. When i tried to install GNUmake, it itself needs a make to compile......

Could you please help me get going....

You need to install GCC I believe. Do you have the developer tools installed?

I just started to install Xcode3.1. I'll update the thread if it solves the issue.

make is not part of GCC. You will need XCode, at least. You can also just get the makeutils from ports.
