I have been using Textmate and absolutely LOVE it. However, the price tag is just too steep. My income won't justify paying $69US for a text editor. Thus, I am here asking for recommendations.
I generally focus on HTML, PHP, and Perl, but I also do Python, Shell, Java, and C/C++. I would like a text editor with comparable features that is inexpensive (free if possible). I have used several. Smultron doesn't do it for me. TextWrangler is okay. I am trying Aquamacs, but it doesn't seem to do it either. I would like an editor with some sort of tab interface. On that note, please give me suggestions. If anyone has a list of possibilities for me to try, that would be awesome. Thank You in advance. |
