Hi,
not sure if im in the right kind of forum for this, but here goes. Any help welcome!

Im trying to compile -- and install -- a library called libtunepimp. I downloaded the source code from http://musicbrainz.org/doc/libtunepimpDownload

its kind of a long story why, but my ultimate aim is to compile amarok on mac with musicbrainz support, and unfortunately due to some problems with the fink versions of libxine and stuff, the easy solution will not work!

Anyway, I can get amarok to compile and run, but it will not recognise the musicbrainz installed with fink, hence why im installing it myself. However, when I do, I get:

Quote:
checking how to hardcode library paths into programs... immediate
appending configuration tag "F77" to libtool
checking whether we are using the GNU C++ compiler... (cached) yes
checking whether g++ accepts -g... (cached) yes
checking dependency style of g++... (cached) gcc3
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking for compress in -lz... yes
checking for XML_ExpatVersion in -lexpat... no
*
* expat is needed to build this library. It is either not
* installed on your system or it is too old.
* Please download it from http://expat.sourceforge.net.
*
configure: error: "Cannot build. Stop."
Ive had a go at installing expat to /sw (the fink folder) but the above error still occurs. Any ideas?
QUOTE Thanks
