trying to play videos on quicktime in tiger and having no luck. i hit play, and the time starts rolling but the quicktime window is just gray. any suggestions?

I saw my mom set up our first PC when I was 10...recieved my first dell when I was 18, built 3-4 PC's after that...bought a used Ibook when I was 25...WHAT THE H E LL TOOK ME SO LONG?!

i've tried a bunch, some are .mp4, some are .avi, some are divx files.....

You'll need to install the codec pack, Perian. That should get most, if not all, of those videos to play.
