Frustrated...PE4 keeps shutting down PLEASE HELP

I have searched but I can't find any info on this.

I have 2.16 ghz intel core duo. 2gb of ram. I updated this to the max yesterday and am having the same problem.

PE4 edits 2 photos for me and shuts down. I've searched on the web and what I've done so far:

run repair disk permissions
upgraded ram
run diskwarrior for intel (no problems)
my plugins are Nik color efex 2.0 and 3.0
oh I forgot, I've got the memory on PE4 set to 85% and image cache 6 levels

It used to do this after a few photos (not just 2) and then I upgraded nik color efex and now it does it after 2. It's been frustrating me and I just can't figure out why it's doing it.

None of my other programs do this.
