Final Cut Express Music and Audio Settings

I have two quick questions:

1. How do I delete the existing audio on a clip that I've captured (from a DV recorder) without deleting the clip, I just want to get rid of the audio.

2. How do I make it so that Final Cut will accept my m4A music files into the browser?
