Gmail with Mac Mail

Has anyone been experiencing weird problems using mac mail to retrieve their gmail??

How are you set up? POP3 or IMAP? Here right now on my main Mac I have it still set for POP3 and no issues at all. What Mac and which version of OSX are you running? Are these problems more recent?

does your mail make the new mail sound when you actually get a new email?? I think I'm using pop. I'm running leopard.

The New Mail sound is iffy with some accounts. It's a Bug and a fix should be in 10.5.2 from what I have read.

Yeah, it works fine for me but now that you mention it I don't get the sound either. I just see the red numbers and check without hearing the sound, so i don't notice it. Otherwise I have no problems.

I tried Apple Mail with Gmail IMAP, and it was all kinds of messy. Creating tasks and notes created infinite loops and kept replicating the same message in the inbox over and over.

Until I figure this out, I'm sticking with Entourage.

It seems to me that sticking with Entourage will make it really hard to figure out the problem with Mail...

the only problem i've had is that Mail can't seem to distinguish the inbox from the archive folder.

Kidding.

I'm not having too many problems with it, just a couple things here and there. The deletion of mail off of the Gmail server doesn't work for me, but other than that, not too much.
