When i make a change to a song in iTunes such as album name, artist etc.. will these changes automatically be saved to the actual MP3 file? If i import the same file into a different iTunes library will these changed details still be there or would i have to change them all over again?

Yep. It makes the changes to the ID3 tags of the mp3 file. You will however have to set ratings and such separately as that is in the iTunes database file.

Artwork is somehow saved in the file. You can see this yourself if you have an MP3 on your desktop, and attach an image to the song in iTunes... the icon in finder changes to the artwork.

If you have an iTunes account (which is free as long as you have a credit card from one of the 22 countries), then just right-click > Get album artwork. There's also a Get album artwork option from the menubar which gets it for all those which don't have artwork in them.

Also as a reminder if the album isn't in the iTunes store it will not add the album art to that song.
