Every man needs some type of word processing on his/her computer. I don't want to pay 80 bucks to get it.

You could also try:

NeoOffice
AbiWord
Bean

...all of which are free

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Personally I love NeoOffice. Free, open-source Office suite. It's been better than MS Office for me. It has spell check. No grammar check, but I've never used grammar check anyway. It always gets everything wrong.

Abiword is good, too, and I think it has grammar check, but I'm not sure...
