have you been able to connect your macbook to the phone through bluetooth at all? Turn bluetooth on for both devices, then choose Browse Device from the bluetooth menu.
There's bound to be a list somewhere of phones currently compatible with iSync. I don't know that phone - is it very new? Maybe it simply isn't compatible with iSynch (yet). Also, there are countless widgets for sending SMS through a bluetooth connection. Just go to the apple site downloads, and search through the widgets there. Can't recommend any though, as I've never used any (that worked for my phone in Aus)
