OS 10.4 - Backup Software

I setup a Backup Software on my Mac (DataBackup by Prosoft). How can I tell if the scheduled tasks are actually being preformed? Is there a utility or something that will verify the backup tasks are actually being performed?

Does the app have a log?

Can you do a test restore?
