stuffit in leopard

does stuffit not come with leopard? i'm pretty sure i remember it coming with preinstalled when i bought my mac (with tiger), and i haven't had to use it since leopard, but when i went to open a .rar it tried to open in Xee, and a quick spotlight showed that stuffit wasn't on my computer. am i mistaken that it came with os x? or did it come with a new mac such as ilife does(and i forgot to install it when i upgraded)?

It didn't come with my new iMac G5 when I bought it and it didn't come with Tiger so, unless Apple got too many complaints, it doesn't come with Leopard either.

BTW, Stuffit has recently been updated for Leopard I read somewhere.

Yah... it didn't come with Leopard. Apple apparently is trying to move everyone away from the .sit archive format by providing direct support for .zip format in OS X now. I rarely see anything that comes in a .sit container these days.

also, stuffit is free to expand files.

Would not be without Stuffit 12.01. Do a Google for Stuffit Expander and download the free version.

Its not included which is a bummer but i go tthe free version and it's better any other program i've used
