I'm looking at an item on Ebay I want to win. I've gotten beat out at the last second before. I was wondering about this service:

http://www.auctionsniper.com/

The first time is free, so i considered trying it. They ask for your ebay username and ID, though, so I'm leery! Does anyone know this service or one like it which is verified and safe?

Thank you.

Do not use that. No, it's not legit. Come on.....
1) the web page they're asking you to put in your info is not secure
2) never, never, never supply your password for anything to any third party

Thanks for writing back, Bob. So Verisign and other logos at the bottom of the page don't mean much, aye? Come to think of it, I could download that image and put it on my website. Wouldn't prove much.

I once went to buy a video camera from a company; it was real cheap. Did a quick google search, yowza. People stopped short of threatening violent reprisal, but not by much.

Well to ask a larger question then, any thoughts on winning ebay auctions at the very end? Tools to use, etc?

I have a fast cable connection now, and was planning to just keep several browser windows open with the enter bid window.

shelflife19 has a little shameless behaviour in the past

basically if you have the time on your hands ebay has made a application that shows you live feed, counts down for you, alerts you of bids and so forth, basically what you would do (they callt his sniping) is wait untill about 30 seconds before it ends or less and put in your maximum bid, or you could just put in outrageous amount so no one would outbid you, done that a few times. sometimes though its just better to buy it elsewhere.
