Well not really, but I'm still mighty irritated by Bill and his evil update gang.

After I installed the update for Office, it redesignated my other WordPro (Abiword) to be the default for every .doc file not produced on my computer, so I can no longer just click on the document to open it.

For some reason no matter where I look, I can't find how to reset Microsoft Word as my default.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

Highlight a Word document you have

click "File" on the top menu bar

Click "Get info" and go to the tab "Open with"

In the drop menu, select the program you want to open the Word file with and click "Change all" button below.

MacBook Pro unibody 2nd gen (2.53C2D, 4Gb, 320Gb WD Scorpio Black), 16Gb iPod Touch, 32Gb iPhone 3Gs, 160Gb Apple TV, iPad 3G 64Gb

thanks for that- but too many files to do that with it was a nuisance. I just deleted Abiword and they all went back to ms word!

MS Office is gone for me. Had 2004 and not paying to update to 08. 04 is PPC based and so it uses too many resources to keep me happy to run in Leopard on an Intel machine.

There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

There are two types of IT problems in the world. PEBKAC and ID 10 T's.

Read the post again - you don't do it for all files, you click the Change All button.

I judge you when you use poor grammar.

Office 2008 will be a free update for 2004 users... you just have to pay the shipping fees...

But I find myself using iWork 08 more often than Office 2004.
