watching movie files on xbox 360

Does anyone know if you can watch movie files you have on your computer on xbox 360 with mac? My friend does it with windows but said he doesn't think you can do it with mac.

probably going to sound really n00b here but i gotta ask.. how can i convert video files (like avi and mpeg) to wmv?
