Hi!

I have a white intel macbook, and I need to install this piece of software

The software I need is on this page: http://www.stups.uni-duesseldorf.de/...ds.php?sys=mac and it's this one:

BE4 Latest stable release
Mac OS X, gzipped tarball
Releasedate: 05.04.2007
Version: 0.1

Is it safe to install this piece of software on my intel mac... or will it mess something up?

Thanks,
Lilbird.

Yes it's totally ok. Intel macs use a thing called Rosetta to emulate the old PPC apps. But it's all behind the scenes to all you'll notice is your ppc apps a tiney but slower on the intel mac than in they were on a G5. But this slowdown is barely noticeable on my 17 inch imac. They all run like a dream.

Per the8thark, Rosetta handles most of these seamlessly. So, try it out... I have read a few reports where things don't work perfectly, but they are the exceptions, not the rule.

My Macs: PowerMac G5 Quad, 2.5 GHz, 4 Core, Mac Pro, 3.2 GHz 8 Core, Power Macintosh 7500/100
My iStuff: 32 GB iPhone 4, 30 GB iPod Video, 16 GB iPod Touch
My OS': Mac OS X Tiger, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Leopard, Mac OS 8.6, openSUSE 10.3, Win XP
