i get a LOT of emails from one person. and i was wondering if it was possible to create something like a folder to store them all in. i know how i could send them to it via rules, but i don't know how to (or if i can) make them.
i am using apples mail.app

also if it is possible in thunderbird.

In mail.app select mailbox->new smart mailbox, then add the rule there. I don't know about thunderbird.

Delete the smart mailbox. Create a regular mailbox. Then go to mail preferences->rules, and create a rule that moves the email to the new mailbox. This will move it from inbox to the new mailbox.

All mail folders created and working fine, except one.

I decided to create a folder called 'OLD SENT' and promptly proceeded to shift everything out of the SENT mailbox. Trouble is, it didn't. There was something like 7,000 messages totalling nearly 2GB. They currently reside somewhere in the guts of this machine as an mbx file.

Can anyone please advise me how to free up these messages and get them into an accessible folder? I have attempted to create sub-folders arranged by date but this hasn't worked either.
Thanks in advance...
