Well, I was reading somewhere that the PDF export was an OS X thing, not a Pages thing, but none-the-less, I am having issues exporting my pages document to a PDF.

Any suggestions? I really would like to get this document to a PDF - meaning I kinda need to.

Thanks,
Massasoit

Well, Pages has two options to export to PDF. One is its inbuilt File > Export, and the other is the "OS X thing".

That is, in any application which has a Print command, Pages included (File > Print), there will be a button in the lower left, "PDF", Just click on it and say "Save as PDF". If you are still having problems with PDF, then export your "Pages to iPhoto images". You can then print the JPEGs which get imported into your iPhoto library.

Explaining "issues" would be helpful. What kind of problem are you having, and what are you doing when you get the problem?

All it says is "Error while printing."

Pages doesn't crash or anything, and the error isn't particularly helpful.

Does the export to .pdf function work? Go to, file, export, and then choose PDF.

I always just do the Print to PDF function in my applications, I've never had a problem. Click the File menu, click Print and then click the PDF button at the lower-left corner of the screen. Choose "Save as PDF" - let us know what happens.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

No, it does not, nor does printing to a PDF through the printer menu.

Is it just one particular document, or does it occur with every document?

Is it only in Pages? I assume that you are not using an expired trial version?

I attempted exporting to PDF with preview, and it worked fine.

And no, it is not a trial, it is a purchased copy.

And now apparently Pages does not want to open my document. Wonderful.
Got it to open after I restarted the MacBook.

I found this thread in relation to your issue.

You don't happen to have an HP printer, do you?

No, I have only Xerox machines in my house.

Update, however, I attempted to export another file, and it worked. This was a basic two page text file.

And I just tried to rexport my document again, and it worked.

I just hope it continues to function... :p
