Am busy transfering 15Gb of photos from my old Dell to my shiny new iMac so it's vital I get my organisation right from the start. Have had a play around, read the tutorials and searched this forum but have two immediate and nagging questions...

As the family photographer I want to be able to import photos while logged on as me, but I want other members of the family to view (but not edit) certain albums when they are logged on as themselves either when using my imac or through our home network. I cannot find any way to make albums 'public' to allow my wife to see most and my children to see some of the albums. Any suggestions good people?

Conversely, I have some work photos that not only do I not want to share but I do not their commercially sensitive album/event 'visable' when viewing iPhoto in the presence of clients. Is there any way I can 'hide' an album/event/photo library entry (even better if I can password protect it too)?

I'm happy to consider using an external hard drive if it will enable the later problem to be resolved and if there is no mac way to solve my dilema on the imac itself.
QUOTE Thanks
