Using Disk Utility

Hey guys i was wondering if anyone could help me here....

I was reading somewhere that said in disk utility it was possible to create a .iso file....i have tried a few times but can only create a .dmg....i need to be able to take some files and well turn them into a .iso.......help would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm not sure if you can create ISO files. You can burn them for sure, but creating is mainly DMG.
