Norton Antivirus uninstall

My school wanted all of their students to install their antivirus software on the computers. My computer refused to load NAV and had difficulties...needless to say I wanted to uninstall it. I now have no full running NAV and random files that are still running so they can't be deleted... I tried using appzapper and it didn't fully load so it wasn't in the listing...any help would be appreciated.

Anti-virus software for Mac OS X is kinda pointless. My advice is just: don't bother. ;p

On a Mac, IMO, you should only get anti-virus for Windows if you're running Windows on your Mac.
