So I have two .mac accounts and I can send email and received email just fine on my main network at home, or any other network to this point except my mom's. I can enter her network and surf the web, which is where I am at doing this now, but when it comes to email, I can receive but cannot send.

I get the timeout message or the email comes up with a box in front of it with the server list.... but I have the accounts setup right in preferences. I am unable to send mail period, unless going through the webmail app, which I dont like doing.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm going to assume that your mother has a different ISP than you do. Many ISPs don't allow mail forwarding to outgoing mail servers (smtp) that are not their own, but they all allow access to incoming (pop3) servers, hence you can receive but not send. There is not much you can do about. You can call the ISP, but they are likely to tell you "tough". This is often done to keep them from getting blacklisted because of their users who may use their services, to a 3rd party smtp server, to send Spam via e-mail.

I had an ISP like this some years ago and it became one of the reasons I dumped them in the end.

Wow that totally makes sense. Yes I am where there is a different ISP and all I had to do was add a server, mail.bresnan.net with no username or password.... Just to let the outgoing pass through.

Pretty cool, just never realized that before.

Thanks again, makes my life so much easier! No more signing into the webmail app.
