convert .rsrc to .png or .icn

okay, I have the icon in .rsrc format but I want to add somethings to it so I need to get it .png or something similar so I can edit it in photoshop. The hard thing is is that I can just take a picture of the icon because it is a transparent drive so you can see whatever is behind it. When I take a picture of it it will no longer be clear and it will show whatever is behind it when i take the picture. Do you know what I mean? So I need to be able to convert the .rsrc directly to a .png so the transparency remains intact. How can I do this? I have searched for a couple hours trying to find a converter but I can't find one. I also read that Icns2Rsrc converts rsrc back into icn but I didn't get that to work.
