ok so i can run the folding @ home grpahical client (PPC) on my intel imac just fine. but it only uses 1 core max. so i want to use the most power it can. the smp client can use both cores (so i am told) - the text console client one.

but it just comes up with errors once its downloaded the file to fold. heres an attachement of what it came up with after about 5 minutes.

any help would be apreciated.

Thanks.

Try re-installing F@H SMP, you tried the installer version?

Try Reading through the FAQ also:

And get the SMP Installer version:
  • SMP Client Intel

Note* the webpage is currently down.

I'll try again with the F@H on mac.

Quote:
Source F@H SMP Client FAQ:
2. Install the program.
For Mac OSX: untar the files and then copy the mpiexec file to the ~/Library/Folding@Home directory and then run the fah5 binary. More detailed instructions are at the bottom of this page.
1. Download the SMP for OSX (Intel), Clicky.

2. Unpack the file and install (following the instructions).

3. Go to the system preferences and the Folding @ Home Icon.

4. Give your self a username and team number and click "Start Folding @ Home".

Good luck!
