Apache Derby -- anybody use it on OS X?

Mac Specs: Mac Pro 2.6ghz Quad Xeon, 23" Cinema

I need to get Apache Derby set up for a school project. I am curious if anybody has a simple guide to get it working properly on OS X -- I am using eclipse as my IDE if that helps at all. Thanks in advance.
