iBook2007 is on a distinguished road

iBook2007 is offline
Hello, I have upgraded my mac to the following specifications. G3 500MHz 20GB hard drive 576MB ram - from 192MB RAM Mac OSX 10.39 from 10.33 So far things are going good already I am using my iBook as often as my Sempron 3400+ PC and it would not be long before I will be using the mac more often. Currently I have run into a bit of a snag; it is a bit slow in comparison. I am looking for an IM, I have tried gmail but it is very slow, and I have downloaded MSN but it too becomes slow after using it for a while, and I do not want it slowing down on a conversation. I would think that iChat is the best for mac and would run fastest, but I do not know how to set it up. Can anyone help me? Also my friends use gmail does iChat work with gmail? Thanks.
QUOTE Thanks
