Hi all,
I'm currently backing up my computer to DVD and CD-ROM, i'm losing about 30% of my disc with the following errors. I'm using Verbatim Disks X16 (Advanced AZ0+) and burning at X4 speed. I've already looked around and can see this is not a new problem, but really don't understand what's up. Strangely I get these error msgs at the end of each session even if the disk has burnt ok and most of the disks are fine, then i get the msg at the start of a session and have to chuck that disk. I tried burning at X1 but it flipped out straight away.
Pulling my hair out!

Personally I've found burning discs a hit-and-miss activity at best. I use Imation discs and get the least problems with them, but to be honest I'd never trust burnt discs for data backup as they are not long-term or reliable enough - R/W discs in particular. You might do better investing in an external USB hard drive.

eta: Looking at those messages I'd blame the discs.

I judge you when you use poor grammar.

Yeah, that's the plan eventually, but i just wanted to clear some movies off my mac. I've succeeded, but at a great cost in disks. Thanks for the advice anyway.
