Mac with OS X 10.4.9 can't see Windows Server 2003

Help!

Since upgrading to OS X 10.4.9 the system cannot

1. see OS 9 and appleshare with older machines
2. cannot search for items on a Windows Server 2003 PC platform server why is this?

Can it be resolved?
