Does anyone have any solutions for connecting to windows machine on my home network over the internet.

I have been using logmein via paralells but it is not the best solution.
Does anyone have other solutions that actually work?

I would love to figure out how to use MS RDC but cannot seem to get it to connect via the Internet.

Thanks

When you say "connect to," do you mean mount a drive or take control.

If you just want to mount a drive you have to change the scope of your File sharing in the Windows firewall to custom and input the IP(s) of the remote machine(s).

If you want to take control I suggest Real VNC Server for the windows box and Chicken of the VNC as your OS X viewer. Do the same with thing in the Windows firewall of which ever firewall software you are using.

Both solutions require that ports be forwarded through your router. If you are concerned with leaving your ports continuously open (as you should be) enable remote login on your router. This way you can simply log into the router enable the needed ports do your business and then disable them. Manuall IP's make this a cinch all the way around.
